Mercedes-Maybach unveils updated S-Class sedan

The luxury Mercedes-Maybach S-class has been updated following the standard sedan in the W223 body, this upgrade has become the largest in the history of the model. Acceptance of orders for new products in Europe started on March 25, later it will appear in other markets, the press service of the German brand reported.

Externally, the Maybach sedan is distinguished by a Mercedes-Benz S-class radiator grille with vertical bars traditional for luxury brand models, slightly redesigned air intakes in the front bumper and logos on the front and rear pillars with integrated lighting. Projectors are built into the thresholds, which bring down welcome images with the name Maybach.

As in the standard S-class, a Superscreen panel consisting of three screens has appeared in the Maybach cabin. The infotainment system runs on the proprietary MBUX operating system of the fourth generation. The car is able to perceive natural speech using tools from Microsoft, Google and other cloud services. AI can suggest destinations based on the habits of the owner or, for example, automatically adjust the climate control depending on the behavior or tone of voice.

The doors of the second row are equipped with servos (they swing open at the touch of a button), especially comfortable reclining chairs with leg support are prepared for the rear passengers, comfort functions are controlled from the touch screen on the center console, a stand for champagne glasses and a 10-liter refrigerator. The Manufaktur factory personalization program allows customers to choose from a variety of combinations of exterior and interior finishes. One of the options was the interior design scheme without the use of leather — it includes eco-leather and textiles.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-class will be offered in a mild hybrid version of the S 580 with a V8 4.0 biturbo engine (537 hp), in a rechargeable hybrid version of the S 580 e (585 hp) with a power reserve of 100 km on pure electricity, as well as in the top-end version of the S 680, which, depending on the market, has 612-a strong V12 6.0 or a hybrid system with a V8 4.0 of the same power. Maybach has borrowed an active suspension from the new S-Class, which reads the road ahead and can remember where potholes and road surface irregularities are located in order to adjust settings in real time.

Earlier, on January 27, it was reported that 36.6 thousand Mercedes-Benz passenger cars were imported to Russia in 2025, which is 47% more than a year earlier. In the new car segment, Mercedes-Benz imports increased by 30% to 10.2 thousand units. The import of used cars increased by 55%, to 26.4 thousand units.
