"Pinocchio" will be shown in online cinemas Wink, Kinopoisk and Okko

A modern film adaptation of the famous fairy tale is being released digitally — the film will be available in online cinemas Wink, Kinopoisk and Okko from March 27.

"Pinocchio" was widely distributed in Russia on January 1, 2026 — 50 years after the premiere of the TV movie "The Adventures of Pinocchio" — and became one of the main family releases of the year, collecting more than 2.3 billion rubles. The digital screening will be the next stage of the project's distribution and will allow viewers to watch the film in a convenient format at any time.

Directed by Igor Voloshin, the main roles were played by Alexander Petrov, Mark Eidelstein, Victoria Isakova, Ruzil Minekaev, Vitaly Kornienko and other Russian stars. Motion capture technology was used in the filming. A special make-up was applied to the body of actress Vitaly Kornienko for 30 minutes, and it took another half hour to put on the costume. Then the movements and facial expressions were digitized and the Pinocchio figure was animated with their help.

The soundtrack to the film was created by Alexey Rybnikov together with his son Dmitry. The composer wrote the music for the 1975 film "The Adventures of Pinocchio" — his main song was "Boo-ra-ti-no!", on which Alexey worked together with the poet Yuri Entin.

After successful distribution in Russia, the film received active international development.: Pinocchio is represented in key foreign markets and has been sold to more than 50 countries around the world. The film was shown in cinemas in the USA, Canada, Spain, Switzerland, Cyprus, and is currently being distributed in Israel and Latin America. Pinocchio was also shown at the European Film Market in Berlin and at Russian film festivals in Armenia, Thailand and Belarus.

The film was produced by the Hydrogen Film Company and Art Pictures Studio, the National Media Group, Channel One, Plus Studio, Art Pictures Distribution with the support of the Cinema Foundation.
