At least seven residential buildings and about 15 cars were damaged as a result of an explosion recorded in one of the apartments in Sevastopol. This was announced on Wednesday morning, March 25, by the head of the Gagarin district of the city, Ekaterina Falina.

"There are three houses in emergency mode, rooms 14, 20, 16 (on Pavel Korchagin Street). And there is also minor damage in four houses, this concerns glazing. As for the cars, at least 15 cars were damaged," she told RIA Novosti.

At the moment, as the agency's interlocutor emphasized, the examination of the structures of the facility where the explosion occurred has not been completed. The work continues.

The Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, introduced a regional emergency regime in the city the night before. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence"), Article 222.1 ("On the illegal acquisition and storage of an unidentified explosive device"), two people were killed. Olga Rodikova, a chorister at the Tatiana Church at Sevastopol State University, was among the victims. In addition, at least 40 apartments were damaged in the building where the incident was recorded.

Anastasia Kharchenko, the daughter of a woman who lived in the damaged house, told Izvestia about the instant reaction of passers-by to the explosion. According to the girl, they were clearing the rubble before the arrival of specialists.
