In Russia, applications for the first grades for the 2026/2027 academic year will begin on April 1. This was announced on March 25 by the press service of the Ministry of Education.

"All Russian schools will start accepting applications for the first grades no later than April 1. The first wave of applications will last until June 30," the press service's statement is quoted by RIA Novosti.

The first stage is held for children who have a primary or preferential right to enroll, as well as for those who live in the territory assigned to the school.

The second stage will be held from July 6 to September 5. At this time, enrollment documents are accepted from families who do not live in the assigned territory.

On February 23, Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov announced the imminent appearance of methodological recommendations for parents on the education of preschoolers. According to him, all materials will be posted on a single digital resource, access to which will be provided to educators.
