Former US Secretary of State Blinken called hockey player Tretyak his childhood idol
Former US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on March 24 that in childhood his idol was the legendary Soviet hockey player, now president of the Russian Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretyak.
"He was probably the greatest goalkeeper of his era," Blinken said during an open discussion at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics.
Tretyak was re-elected president of the Russian Hockey Federation on March 12. He was the only candidate for the position. He was re-elected for the fifth time in a row. He started leading the FHR in 2006.
