The Iranian side prefers US Vice President Jay Dee Vance as a negotiator instead of the special envoy of the American leader Stephen Witkoff. CNN reported this on March 25, citing sources.

"Representatives of Iran have made it clear to the administration of [US President Donald] According to Trump, they do not want to resume negotiations with Special envoy Steven Witkoff and the president's son-in—law Jared Kushner and would prefer to interact with Vice President J. D. Vance," the publication says.

According to the TV channel, Tehran considers negotiations with Kushner and Witkoff unproductive. It clarifies that Vance is perceived by Iran as "more supportive of the desire to end the war." In addition, as noted in the article, the entry of the US vice president into negotiations can be risky.

On March 24, Trump announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vance were taking part in negotiations with Iran. Prior to that, on March 23, the American leader announced that the US military would temporarily suspend strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure amid negotiations between Washington and Tehran. He also said that the United States and Iran had held two days of fruitful negotiations to resolve the conflict.

At the same time, the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly denied the information about the alleged negotiations. According to the ministry, peace initiatives come only from the countries of the Middle East, and the statements of the American leader are an attempt to "buy time" for a military operation.

The Ynet portal, citing an Israeli official, reported on March 23 that the United States plans to announce the end of the military operation against Iran on April 9. It is specified that this will allow the American leader to visit Israel on Independence Day to receive the award.
