A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) consisting of the corvettes "Perfect" and "Sharp" arrived at the port of Chittagong in the People's Republic of Bangladesh with a business call. This was reported on March 25 in the press service of the Pacific Fleet.

The Russian military sailors were met at the pier by representatives of the republic's Naval Forces and employees of the Russian Embassy. The program of the visit provides for the participation of crews in protocol, cultural and sports events together with colleagues from the Bangladesh Navy.

In addition, Pacific Fleet sailors will take part in commemorative ceremonies dedicated to the Soviet Navy's assistance in mine clearance and restoration of the port of Chittagong in 1972-1974.

The detachment set out on a long-distance hike from Vladivostok on February 12 to carry out tasks in the Asia-Pacific region. Before arriving in Bangladesh, the Russian ships made calls at the ports of Georgetown (Malaysia), Tilawa (Myanmar) and Visakhapatnam (India).

On February 26, the Pacific Fleet press service reported that the multinational naval exercise Milan-2026, in which the Russian Navy was represented by the crew of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, had ended in India. Russian sailors and representatives of other participating countries practiced elements of joint maneuvering and naval combat in the Bay of Bengal for five days.
