The expert spoke about the infection of gadgets by fraudsters with spyware

Fraudsters began installing spyware on devices in secret from their owner, while only antiviruses or security programs can prove the fact of surveillance. This was announced on March 25 by Alexandra Pozharskaya, deputy head of the project of the Popular Front for Borrowers' Rights, expert of the Moshelovka platform.

"More often than smart speakers, attackers use smartphones, tablets and computers for surveillance, infecting these devices with special malicious software," the expert told TASS.

Pozharskaya clarified that spyware is not noticeable to device owners: it takes up little memory, downloads occur in the background automatically and do not require access permissions.

According to the expert, scammers can monitor victims through any device connected to the Internet or Bluetooth, specifying that the usual passive scanning of connections for several weeks can yield a lot of private user data.

Pozharskaya recommends that device owners be vigilant: monitor suspicious activity, disconnect from the Internet and power if hacking is suspected, update account passwords and security software.
