The UK has proposed to hold a summit on security issues related to the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on March 24, citing British officials.

"The countries focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz will meet in the near future at the security summit that the UK has proposed to host. More than 30 countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, signed a joint statement agreeing to take "appropriate measures" to ensure the safety of this important trade route.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, the UK intends to propose to the countries the creation of a coalition to open a safe route through the strait and ensure safe merchant shipping.

It is noted that a security conference may be held in London or Portsmouth in the near future.
