The IRGC announced the deployment of the SELEN container ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

The forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) deployed a container ship due to non-compliance with protocols and lack of permission for passage. This was announced on March 24 by Commander of the IRGC Naval Forces (Navy) Ali Reza Tangsiri.

"The SELEN container ship was deployed by the IRGC naval forces due to non-compliance with legal protocols and lack of permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz," the message on the X social network says.

Tangsiri recalled that the passage of a frontal vessel through this waterway requires full coordination with Iran to respect the country's maritime sovereignty.
