New electric vessels will be named after historical places and suburbs of Moscow
In 2026, eight new electric vessels are planned to be launched on Moscow's river routes, which will be named after historical sites and settlements. This was announced on Tuesday, March 24, by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.
To date, the fleet of regular river transport has 31 electric vessels, each of which is named after the small rivers of Moscow, the website clarifies. kp.ru . According to them, this year the fleet is expected to be replenished with eight more vessels, which will receive names related to the historical districts of the city.
It is specified that the new electric vessels will be called "Ostozhenka", "Yakimanka", "Maroseika", "Polyanka", "Taganka", "Vozdvizhenka", "Lubyanka" and "Sretenka", writes "Moscow 24".
According to the official, the fleet is expected to be replenished with new vessels this year, and the names chosen for them are already well known to passengers and reflect the historical heritage of the capital, the Moscow City News agency reports.
