In the first minutes after the explosion of a five-story apartment building in Sevastopol, children and passers-by rushed to clean up the rubble. The landlady of the apartment in the affected building told about it on March 24.
"Mom told me that everyone, without hesitation, immediately rushed to demolish these rubble, raked it out. They reacted quickly, and then everything was a blur. An ambulance arrived, everything is at the highest level," Anastasia Kharchenko, the daughter of a woman who was in the house at the time of the explosion, told Izvestia correspondent.
She also said that at the time of the explosion, no one was in the apartment except her mother and the cat. After the explosion, the elderly woman was not injured, but the animal ended up under a broken sofa — it was saved.
The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, reported an explosion in a residential apartment building the day before. Later it became known about the two dead. It was clarified that 89 specialists and 23 pieces of equipment are working on site. Later, investigators opened a criminal case due to the collapse of a multi-storey building.
After the explosion in the house, 12 people were hospitalized. It was clarified that experts had ruled out the version of a domestic gas explosion. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Sevastopol reported that 10 apartments burned out as a result of the explosion.
