US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is increasingly being viewed as the successor to the head of the White House, Donald Trump, in the 2028 presidential election, while the rating of American Vice President Jay Dee Vance is declining. This was reported on March 24 by the Daily Mail newspaper.

"Republican support for JD Vance is falling, and Marco Rubio is increasingly being viewed as Trump's successor in the 2028 elections amid the war with Iran," the article says.

According to a Daily Mail poll, over the past month, Rubio's rating has increased by three points to 17%, which strengthened his position in second place, just behind Vance, who still holds the first. The vice president leads with 50% of the votes among Republican voters in the primaries. Florida Governor Ron Desantis is in third place with 9%.

According to the publication, Vance's rating has fallen by 3% since the beginning of Trump's conflict with Iran, as many voters feel betrayed due to the fact that at the beginning of his political career, Vance opposed wars for regime change in the Middle East.

On January 22, Trump said that the Republican Party already has a "strong bench" of politicians who could run for the 2028 elections and continue his political legacy. The American leader also confirmed that he does not plan to run for a third term in 2028.
