In Crimea, the memory of military commander "Izvestia" Fedorchak was honored on the anniversary of his death.

On March 24, Crimea honored the memory of Izvestia war correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, who died a year ago during a business trip to the special operation zone.

Fedorchak was doing his job filming a report when he became the target of a Ukrainian missile strike. On March 24, a memorial wall appeared at the school named after him.

On the anniversary of the death of the correspondent, a memorial line is held at his native school. This lyceum is now officially named after Alexander Fedorchak. Here he took the first steps towards his future profession, wrote to school newspapers and led festive concerts.

"A memorial wall was opened in the school museum in honor of Alexander Fedorchak. There is a book dedicated to him, many photographs and a composition made by the hands of the soldiers of the Marine brigade. Sasha's desk was turned into a hero's desk," said Oleg Zaikovsky, a correspondent for Izvestia.

A monument was unveiled at the grave of Alexander Fedorchak. He died exactly one year ago, along with three colleagues from the Zvezda TV channel. The route of their car was tracked by Ukrainian militants and targeted with HIMARS missiles.

"The most tragic day in our family, life is counting down "before" and "after", life is divided. In his soul and memory, Sasha never left his head or his thoughts for a minute," confessed Sergey Fedorchak, the journalist's father.

Fedorchak graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and always dreamed of being a sports columnist, but at the call of his heart he joined the army. When the special operation began, he could not stay in the rear, he began to travel to the front, first with humanitarian aid, and then as a war correspondent, telling about what was happening at the front.

Fedorchak visited the sites of the most brutal battles in the DPR, LPR, Belgorod and Kursk regions. He followed in the footsteps of the successes of our army and was one of the first civilians to enter the liberated towns and villages. The soldiers who served with Fedorchak were surprised by his courage, and even more so by his good mood and wide smile. Fedorchak often came to his fellow countrymen, to the volunteer detachment "Crimea", and always not empty-handed.

"He (Fedorchak. He knew who smoked which cigarettes, who liked which sweets. I always came with this set and distributed it to the guys. He was always cheerful, always smiling, always looking for something to help. He was one of us, he was a brother," said Kirill Korneychuk, a former deputy commander of the Crimea detachment and a participant in the Heroes of Crimea program.

Fedorchak was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. In addition to him, two military commanders of Izvestia, Semyon Eremin and Alexander Martemyanov, died during the years of the special operation at the front. Despite the deadly danger, Izvestia's military personnel continue to work in their area.

"Sasha will always be remembered, but we, his colleagues, military reporters, must take his place in the ranks and continue his work, constantly remembering the price the deceased military personnel paid to bring the truth about what is happening at the front to people," said military correspondent Valentin Trushnin.

To perpetuate the memory of Alexander Fedorchak, memorial plaques were unveiled on the buildings of the school and university where he studied. In the center of his native village, on the facade of one of the houses, artists painted a mural in the form of a portrait of a military commander.

Through the efforts of parents and friends, a book about the military commander was published, compiled from letters and poems from people from all over the country, and a Sasha journalism competition was founded at his native university. The whole country knows about him, the name of Alexander Fedorchak will never be forgotten.

On December 15, the Memorial Day of the dead Journalists, relatives and colleagues remembered the fallen military officers.

Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak died in the SVR zone on March 24. On the same day, Andrey Panov, the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, died.

On April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Fedorchak the Order of Courage posthumously. In addition, the award was awarded to the deceased correspondents of Channel One, Anna Prokofieva, and the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, Andrei Panov. The award given to Fedorchak was handed over to his parents on June 17.
