Medialogia talked about the popularity of domestic TV series in Russia in 2025
In the ranking of the most popular TV series in Russia in 2025, about 60% are domestic titles. This was announced on March 24 by the head of the working group on the development of the Russian rating of TV series created by Medialogia, Evgeny Mironov.
"The number of Russian titles in the absolute top 100 is approximately 60%. <...> The next thing I would like to note is Turks (Turkish TV series. — Ed.)," he said at the presentation of the rating.
According to Mironov, the Sled series is unique in this regard, which is ahead of all other projects in Russia "in terms of viewing." As for Turkish TV series, such projects get to the top because of the high demand and frequent discussion on social networks, especially during the absence of high-profile releases.
In the future, Medialogy will provide an opportunity and will decompose the funnel in more detail with a focus on discussion, because it seems to us that discussion is a very unexplored piece. If content producers and market players understand well how the sarafan effect works, they will be able to achieve much greater success with content," Mironov added.
The head of the rating development working group emphasized that, in general, the topic of discussing TV series should be given more attention when compiling such ratings. For example, the last season of Stranger Things, which took second place on the list, created a stir even when the teaser was released in the summer, although the season itself was released only in November.
Earlier that day, Medialogia presented a new analytical product, the Russian Series Rating, the first release of which was the top 100 most popular projects of 2025. The South Korean thriller "The Squid Game" became the leader of the rating (42,861 points). The second place went to the American science fiction series "Stranger Things" (26 572 points). The Russian detective "Sled" closes the top three (20,361 points). The top five most popular projects also included the Russian comedies "Daddy's Daughters" (14,253 points) and "Univer" (13,267 points).
