A new generation of AI assistant has appeared in Russia

Sber presented the Gigachat AI assistant, which has undergone a large-scale update, based on the new flagship Gigachat Ultra model. According to the bank, the AI assistant now remembers facts about the user and uses them to further personalize communication and proposed solutions. In addition, the neural network itself launches an Internet search and generates text responses twice as fast.
Using the new model, it is possible to create applied AI products and services, as well as run code directly in the interface, Sberbank emphasized.

According to Anton Frolov, Senior Vice President and Head of the Generative AI Development Unit at Sberbank, the updated model represents a transition to a multi-agent AI assistant. At the same time, the developers expect to eventually come to a situation where "classic mobile applications will give way to an interface based on a neural network."

Frolov called the Gigachat Ultra one of the largest models in the world, fully developed and trained in Russia. "The flagship version of the model now remembers your preferences, works faster, understands tasks better, and provides better recommendations," he added.

The new generation of long-term memory used in Gigachat allows you to save facts about the user between sessions and use them in each subsequent conversation. The model remembers the user's hobbies, tastes and interests, profession, education, life goals and habits, as well as personal data to the extent that the user shares them.

The increased speed of generating text responses directly affects how quickly the user sees the response. The performance boost is provided by the architecture of the Mixture of Experts (MoE).

In addition to automatically enabling information search on the Internet, the "Gigachat" now has a built-in refaser. This system itself reformulates the user's query to increase the relevance of the results and the quality of the final responses.
