At least 2.1 thousand children were killed or injured after the start of the US and Israeli military operation against Iran. This was announced on Monday, March 23, by the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Ted Chaiban.

"During the 23 days of escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, children in the region have been experiencing its terrible impact. <...> More than 2.1 thousand children have died or been injured, including 206 dead children in Iran and 118 in Lebanon. Four children were killed in Israel and one in Kuwait," TASS quoted him as saying.

The representative of the organization warned that if the fighting continues, the number of victims will increase.

"Since the beginning of the war, an average of 87 children have been injured or killed per day," he stressed.

The head of the Tehran Provincial Ambulance Department, Mohammad Esmail Tavakolli, said on March 16 that the death toll from the United States and Israel in the capital province had reached 503 people, including 12 children aged two months to 12 years. According to him, 5,700 people were injured during the hostilities, most of whom were civilians.
