CSKA defeated SKA in the KHL playoffs
Moscow Hockey club (HC) CSKA beat SKA from St. Petersburg in the opening match of the first round of the playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The match took place on March 23 at the CSKA home arena and ended with a score of 3:2.
Maxim Sorkin scored a double as part of the winners (36th, 58th minutes), Nikita Nesterov also scored (87th). Nikolay Goldobin (24th) and Sergey Sapego (38th) scored for SKA.
The next meeting of the teams will take place on March 25 in Moscow.
According to the results of the KHL regular season, CSKA took fourth place in the Western Conference standings, while SKA took fifth place.
Yekaterinburg HC Avtomobilist beat Ufa Salavat Yulaev on its ice on March 23 in the first round of the KHL playoffs with a score of 2:0. According to the results of the regular season, Avtomobilist took fourth place in the East, Salavat Yulaev finished fifth.
