Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni conceded defeat in a referendum on judicial reform on March 23 and announced that she would continue working until the end of her term.

"Sovereignty remains with the people, and today they have made it clear. The government fulfilled its promise — it proposed a reform from the election campaign and left citizens with a choice. As always, we respect this choice, although we still regret the lost opportunity to modernize Italy. But we will continue to calmly and conscientiously carry out our work for the benefit of the country while fulfilling the mandate," Meloni said in a video message on the social network X.
