The first explosions began on Monday, March 23, in the Shimanovsky district. Specialists worked near the village of Ushakovo at the Golden Spit site.
Traditionally, ice-blasting operations are carried out in four sections of the Amur River. The next stop will be a segment near the village of Novovskresenovka in the same district. Then the explosions will be carried out in the area of the villages of Chernyaevo in the Magdagachinsky district and Albazino in the Skovorodinsky district.
Work on the destruction of the ice cover is carried out annually as part of flood control measures. They are scheduled to be completed by April 3. Ice-blasting operations are also planned on the Urkan River in the Zeya district.
Earlier it was reported that ice crossings began to close in the Amur region due to warming. Since March 21, traffic has also been banned at the crossing in the Mazanovsky district on the Selemdzha River, and on the 23rd, at two more crossings in the Shimanovsky district.
