The psychologist explained the choice of libraries by zoomers instead of parties
Psychologist, head of the psychological center Sergey Lang told why zoomers choose libraries instead of coffee shops and noisy parties.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, March 23, he noted that the surge in zoomers' interest in libraries is related to communication fatigue: due to constant correspondence, noise and contacts, people began to appreciate silence and privacy. Lang noted that the library provides a rare opportunity to be alone with oneself, and the accepted model of behavior there — quiet conversations and respect for personal space — helps to mentally recover and "hide" psychologically.
The expert added that it is also a way for young people to communicate comfortably, especially for introverts: such spaces become a kind of "value filter" for finding people who are close in spirit. At the same time, he stressed that modern city libraries have changed a lot and have become attractive even to a digital audience.
According to the expert, the trend set by the buzzers has already played an important role: it reminded older generations of libraries. And even if the interest eventually gives way to a new hobby, many, according to him, have already rediscovered such places and can make them part of their usual lives.
Earlier that day, Olga Shuppo, founder and scientific director of the Grand Clinic network, told Izvestia that constant stress and high cortisol levels can increase the risk of developing early dementia in young people and middle-aged people.
Psychologist Konstantin Nikulin noted on March 18 in a conversation with Moskva 24 that the trend towards visiting libraries is somewhat opposed to modern trends, including the consumption of content in the online environment. He suggested that this trend is quite comfortable for introverts and those who do not like to meet in noisy places, at parties.
At the same time, clinical psychologist Dmitry Kudryashov noted that the grandchildren of the zoomers have a better chance of mental health. He recommends reducing mental stress by paying attention to sleep patterns and time spent on gadgets. According to him, it is possible, for example, to switch the smartphone to black and white mode - so the screen will attract less attention, notes 360.ru .
In January, psychologist Guli Bazarova, in a conversation with NSN, explained why zoomers are happier than millennials. According to her, younger millennials were less likely to face responsibility in childhood, as their parents did a lot for them, while zoomers are more independent and feel happier in adulthood.
In November last year, psychologist Anna Polosina stated that zoomers are more likely to experience anxiety for several reasons. Young people are more aware of mental health, are prone to introspection, and actively use social media, which increases feelings of anxiety, the website notes. kp.ru .
