The Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Olga Panchikhina, confirmed to Izvestia media reports about an 11-year-old girl found in the village of Vavilovo, who had never gone to school and had no documents.

The Children's Ombudsman said that she had already worked out the problem of a large family in which a child lives with guardianship authorities and local authorities. She explained that there really is a problem, but "not everything is as scary" as described in the publication.

"The girl really has no documents, and she doesn't go to school. Her family — her mother and older siblings — teach her, but not in the education system, but at home, on their own. She can read. Now we need to choose the right educational trajectory, check whether her knowledge is sufficient for the fourth grade, where something needs to be tightened," the editorial interlocutor pointed out.

She noted that the girl's mother does have nine children, but only three of them are minors. And with the exception of the youngest daughter, everyone is in school.

According to Panchikhina, the family cannot be called "marginal" or "dysfunctional." She did not come to the attention of the prevention authorities due to any problems. At the same time, as the Commissioner for Children's Rights emphasized, the family "definitely needs help now," at least with obtaining documents.
