The main investors in Russia are IT specialists and entrepreneurs

Almost half of the investors in Russia are representatives of the IT sector and business. This is evidenced by the results of a study by the investment company AKTIVO, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 24.

According to the study, which involved 1,587 investors from across the country, 22.3% of respondents are IT specialists and entrepreneurs. Representatives of engineering professions account for 13.7%, while specialists in the financial and economic spheres account for 6.5%. The share of doctors was 4.9%, law enforcement agencies — 2.8%, and another 1% were employees of the fashion industry.

Most investors invest in funds, stocks, bonds, and commercial real estate. The main age of the participants is from 31 to 45 years, while about 85% of them are men. In terms of income, a quarter of investors earn more than 100,000 rubles per month, while 19.3% earn over 200,000 rubles. About 14-15% of respondents receive more than 500-600 thousand rubles. At the same time, almost half of the participants invest more than 30% of their income, and a quarter invest more than 50%.

"Despite the significant percentage that investors spend on investments, for the majority (62.7%) they are more of a hobby, and only 24.5% treat them as a second job," the experts noted.

A comfortable level of savings depends on several factors

Respondents cited an interest in financial management (55%) and fears of losing their jobs (30.5%) as the main reasons for starting investment activities. Also among the motives is the desire to secure the future, prepare for retirement and strive to manage income more effectively.

"At the same time, over 50% of the respondents will change or think about changing their profession, provided they receive a good income from investments. However, the majority (43%) are still satisfied with their work," the experts concluded.

On January 29, Mikhail Kostromin, co-owner of AKTIVO, named the main steps for the first investments to Izvestia. According to him, first of all, it is important to assess your personal financial situation and determine the amount that can be regularly invested without compromising your usual standard of living.
