St. Petersburg hockey club SKA terminated the contract with striker Brendan Laipsik. This was announced on March 23 by the press service of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

"SKA terminated the contract with striker Brendan Laipsik. He has played 31 matches for the club this season," the KHL press service said on its website.

This season, the 34-year-old Canadian forward, who also holds Russian citizenship, has scored ten goals and provided six assists.

Laipsik has been playing in the KHL since 2020. During this time, he played for CSKA, Metallurg, Avtomobilist and Sibir. The contract was terminated before the start of the playoffs.

SKA defeated HC Severstal Cherepovets in the KHL regular season match on March 13. The game took place in St. Petersburg and ended with a score of 5:0. The main character of the match was SKA player Marat Khairullin, who scored two goals. Rocco Grimaldi, Marcus Phillips and Scott Wilson also scored for the St. Petersburg team.
