There are no Russian citizens among the crew of the tanker Deyna detained by France. This was announced on March 23 at the Russian Embassy.

"The French side, in response to a request from the embassy, informed that there were no Russian citizens in the crew," TASS quoted the text of the statement.

On March 20, President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron announced the detention of the tanker Deyna by the French Navy. According to the Reuters news agency, the ship was suspected of using a false flag. The operation was carried out jointly with the British allies.

On March 20, the crew of the tanker Dignity told Izvestia about the lack of light and running out of provisions. It was noted that due to strong winds, the tanker could be torn from its anchor and carried onto nearby vessels. And due to the lack of electricity, which is available only for a few hours a day, the sailors will not be able to take any action in such a situation.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
