The defense of TV presenter Tatiana Lazareva (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring) appealed the verdict in absentia in a criminal case on evading the duties of a foreign agent. Added to the list of terrorists and extremists since June 2022, and also included in the register of individuals who are foreign agents, Lazareva was arrested in absentia on July 10, 2024, under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism using mass media, including the Internet").

On February 4, the Moscow City Court, at the request of the prosecutor's office, overturned the TV presenter's sentence in absentia and referred her case of evading the duties of a foreign agent for a new trial.
