Russian air defense systems shot down 526 aircraft-type drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the day.

Over the past 24 hours, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 526 aircraft-type drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on March 23 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Eight guided aerial bombs and 526 aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems," the ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that since the beginning of the special operation, the Russian Army has hit 671 enemy aircraft, 284 helicopters, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems and over 126 thousand drones. In addition, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed more than 34,000 field artillery and mortars and 57,546 units of special military vehicles.

The new tactic makes it possible to avoid the detonation of army equipment by mines and land mines.

Last night, 249 UAVs were destroyed by the air defense forces. It was clarified that the drones were shot down over the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Smolensk, Tver, Tula regions, the Moscow region and over the Sea of Azov.
