In the center of Moscow, the activities of a technical communications hub that was used for telephone fraud were suppressed. This was announced on March 23 by the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Central Administrative District on its website.

As a result of the operation of the security forces, a 19-year-old young man was detained, who serviced the equipment for transmitting voice traffic, ensuring the operation of fraudulent call centers.

"The young man placed SIM cards of mobile operators in the devices and provided subscriber numbers to accomplices for use in illegal actions," said Vladimir Vasenin, head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, Colonel of the Internal Service.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal use of a subscriber terminal for traffic access or a virtual telephone exchange"). The defendant was charged and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.

On March 16, two young men who served a fraudulent call center were detained in Moscow. The young people, as it turned out later, living on Berezovaya Alley Street, received 200 new SIM cards from their supervisors every day, and also kept three GSM gateways and SIM boxes.
