Emmanuel Gregoire, a representative of the Socialist Party, won the second round of municipal elections and became the new mayor of Paris. This was announced on March 23 by the French TV channel BFMTV.

"In Paris, Emmanuel Gregoire was elected mayor of the capital, gaining 50.52% of the vote. Socialist Party deputy and former first deputy [Mayor of Paris] Anne Hidalgo beat Rashida Dati by nine percentage points," the article says.

The third candidate, Sophie Chicirou, a representative of the left-wing France Unconquered party, won 7.96% of the vote.

On the same day, the candidate with the surname Itler became mayor of the French city of Arcis-sur-Aube. The second place with a support rate of 31.49% was taken by the politician Annie Suka, whose last name is pronounced with an accent on the second syllable. The third place in the election race was taken by Antoine Renaud-Zelinsky, whose surname may resemble the pronunciation of the surname of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky.
