- Politico reported on Hungary's exclusion from discussions due to fear of information leaks
The countries of the European Union (EU) have excluded Hungary from the discussions of the negotiations, due to the unsubstantiated fear of information leakage to Russia. This was reported by Politico newspaper on March 22, citing sources.
At the same time, the EU does not intend to bring charges against Hungary directly.
"Concerns that Hungary may send information directly to Moscow have led to the emergence of discussion formats with like—minded people, instead of holding meetings with all 27 EU members," the publication added.
In this regard, important European negotiations have increasingly taken place in the formats of E3 (Germany, France, Great Britain), E4 (Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy) or the Weimar Triangle (Germany, France, Poland).
Meanwhile, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on March 21 that European democracy is dying because the leadership of the European Union (EU) is interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. According to the Hungarian leader, Brussels is actually fulfilling the requests of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which leads to the desire of European officials to continue the conflict.
