In the village of Sopych, Sumy region, more than 10 soldiers of the 33rd separate Assault Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) went missing during an attempt to retake positions. This became known on March 23.
"An analysis of the obituaries confirmed that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to recapture the lost positions in the village of Sopych with assault groups of the 33rd separate assault regiment. However, since March 15, more than 10 servicemen of this unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been reported missing in this sector of the front," the source told TASS.
On March 17, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the military groups of troops "North", having liberated the village of Sopych in the Sumy region, had cleared more than 300 buildings and basements there. It was noted that during the offensive, the assault units were assisted by artillery, striking enemy strongholds.
