Taking sleeping pills together with alcohol poses a serious threat to health, as it can lead to severe dependence and suppression of the nervous system. Alexander Atyashev, a Tula neurologist, chiropractor, and rehabilitologist, told about this on March 23.

The expert noted that most sleeping pills affect the nervous system, and alcohol additionally slows it down.

"The combination of sleeping pills and alcohol is dangerous because most of the sleeping pills affect the central nervous system. Alcohol is also a toxin for the central nervous system, so their combination will lead to the risk of dependence on both sleeping pills and alcohol," the neurologist told RIA Novosti.

Atyashev also stressed that sleeping pills combined with alcohol enhance each other's effects.

According to him, this can lead to pronounced side effects, including deep sleep and impaired consciousness. The doctor urged extreme caution, as such experiments with the body can have unpredictable consequences.

On March 19, Elena Zubareva, a neurologist at the SM Clinic, warned about the dangerous consequences of sleep deficiency. She noted that prolonged lack of sleep disrupts the functioning of all body systems, primarily affecting the nervous system.
