Hero of Russia Ivikeev shared the details of the liberation of Krasnoarmeysk

The commander of the motorized rifle squad of the 1st Motorized Rifle Battalion of the 506th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of Forces, Hero of Russia, Junior Sergeant Vladislav Ivikeev shared the details of the liberation of the city of Krasnoarmeysk of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The unique footage was shared by the Russian Defense Ministry on March 23.

It is specified that Ivikeev's group was the first to enter the city at night under the cover of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

"Yes, my first task was Red Army. I had to go to Krasnoarmeysk. Take strong points and gain a foothold on them. We were turned on by a bird, the commander turned us on, completely told us where to go, how to go, how to do the right thing. We moved only at night," said Junior Sergeant Ivikeev.

According to him, they had to gain a foothold, get information about the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and strike at them.

It is noted that the Russian military had to be careful — the Ukrainian military established many firing points and conducted reconnaissance.

Despite this, the Russian fighters advanced, and the AFU militants, unable to withstand the onslaught, fled from their positions, leaving equipment and weapons.

During the fighting, fire support for the Russian attack aircraft was provided by calculations of the unmanned systems of the Center group of forces, as well as artillery and tank crews.

It was Ivikeev's group that marked the liberation of Krasnoarmeysk by unfurling the Russian flag on the main square of the city.

"I don't consider myself a hero. We're all doing the same thing together. <...> Nothing has changed, I still carry out combat missions," said the hero of Russia.

On March 20, soldiers of the 30th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Center group of forces told new details of the fighting during the liberation of Krasnoarmeysk. During the defense of Krasnoarmeysk, the enemy created a strong line of defense, which consisted of several echelons. The assault teams overcame anti-tank trenches, open areas and wire fences, acting covertly and using thermal imaging ponchos.
