Lukashenko recalled his attempts to write poetry and copy Yesenin

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has written poetry in the past and copied the style of poet Sergei Yesenin. The politician said this on March 16 during a meeting with the Governor of the Ryazan region Pavel Malkov, new footage of which was published by the Belarus 1 TV channel on March 22.

During the visit, the governor presented the Belarusian president with an edition of Yesenin's poems. The poet and a native of the Ryazan province turned 130 last year.

"I used to copy it. I used to write poetry," Lukashenko said.
