Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko has been appointed head of the Cosmonaut Training Center. This was announced on March 22 by the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov.

"I am pleased to present an important personnel decision. Oleg Dmitrievich Kononenko, our renowned cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, record holder, who spent 1,111 days on the International Space Station, has been appointed director of the Cosmonaut Training Center," he said.
