The expert named the categories of citizens with a ban on diving

Diving is prohibited for people with heart diseases and certain neuropsychiatric diseases. This was announced on March 22 by Dmitry Anashkin, President of the Primorsky Territory Underwater Sports Federation.

"These are cardiac pathologies, for example, if the oval window is open (an opening in the atrial septum of the fetal heart. — Ed.) does not close at the birth of a person. In such cases, decompression sickness may occur when surfacing after diving. Also among the contraindications are epilepsy, mental and neuropsychiatric diseases," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is noted that people who have problems with the internal auditory canals and nasopharynx should not dive.

In August 2025, in Gelendzhik, a man drowned while scuba diving at a diving club. According to preliminary data, a 26-year-old young man died during scuba diving.
