In Russia, against the background of a reduction in the key interest rate, penalties for late payment of taxes and fees will become less. This was stated on March 22 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber for the public examination of draft laws.

"At a meeting on March 20, the Bank of Russia lowered its key rate from 15.5% to 15% per annum. This affects not only banking products. The size of the key rate is important in calculating: penalties for taxes, fees, contributions; compensation for late wages and other payments due to an employee; interest for using other people's money," the TASS expert said.
