The cause of the accident near Rostov was a tanker truck that drove into the oncoming lane.

A major car collision on the highway in the Rostov region occurred due to a fuel tanker that allowed it to enter the oncoming lane due to a faulty wheel. This was announced on March 21 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the region.

"The DAF tanker was moving from Rostov-on-Don towards Taganrog, lost control, tore the cable fence, drove into the oncoming lane, overturned and hit four cars at once. There was a fire," a representative of the department said on the Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, the truck carrying fuel had a malfunction of the front left wheel. Three people were killed in the incident, including the tanker truck driver. Four people were injured.
