On March 21, American billionaire Elon Musk announced his desire to pay salaries to employees of the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) working at American airports that were affected by the government shutdown.

"I would like to offer to pay salaries to TSA personnel during this financial crisis, which negatively affects the lives of so many Americans at airports across the country," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The Transportation Security Administration was established in 2001 after the September 11 attacks and is responsible for airport security, among other things.

This is the third shutdown in the country in recent months. On February 14, a number of departments of the Ministry of Internal Security (MIA) The United States was left without funding due to the partial government shutdown. Most U.S. ministries will continue to receive funding until September 30, 2026, and about 90% of employees whose work is deemed necessary will continue to work.
