- Rosselkhoznadzor announced the imminent end of the fight against pasteurellosis in Novosibirsk
Strict measures to localize foci of pasteurellosis in the Novosibirsk region will be completed in the coming days. This was announced on March 21 by the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert.
"Our task is to make the situation absolutely under control. It is already under control <...> And literally the situation will be over in the coming days," TASS quoted him as saying.
Dankvert noted that the measures taken were forced and quite harsh, but necessary to localize the disease. According to him, the sooner it is possible to complete these activities, the sooner it will be possible to start production.
He also said that illegal movement of livestock remains one of the main reasons for the spread of pasteurellosis. In the future, much will depend on the observance of the rules by the pet owners themselves. According to the head of the department, if neighbors bring livestock without documents, it poses a threat primarily to others.
The state of emergency in the Novosibirsk region in connection with outbreaks of rabies and pasteurellosis among livestock was announced on March 16.
A working group led by Sergei Dankvert, head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, was sent to this area, where livestock began to be seized at the beginning of this month. On March 19, the head of the delegation said that the first payments had already been made to some animal owners.
