Maxim Kadakov, auto expert and editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, told how to prepare a car for the summer.

In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, March 20, the expert noted that a modern car does not require special preparation for spring if it is in good condition, however, there are several recommendations worth paying attention to.

According to him, it is important to thoroughly wash the car after the winter, especially if the care was irregular during the cold season. He stressed that it is necessary to flush the drainage and drain holes in the doors, engine compartment and other cavities, as they become clogged with dirt and leaves over the winter, which can lead to moisture accumulation and corrosion.

The expert also recommended a deep cleaning of the interior, as dirt and moisture accumulate in the car over the winter. He noted that it is important to put the mats in order and ensure dryness inside.

In general, Kadakov added, additional preparation is not required, but spring is the right time for cosmetic repairs. According to him, chips and scratches should be repaired immediately to avoid cracks and rust.
