FBI Director Patel reports on hackers who hacked Signal
The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cash Patel, announced on March 20 that the Signal messenger was allegedly hacked by Russian hackers.
"The FBI has identified cyber attackers linked to Russian intelligence targeting users of commercial messengers, including Signal. The campaign is aimed at individuals with high intelligence value," he wrote on the social network X.
He added that hacking the messenger will allow hackers to have access to thousands of accounts.
At the same time, Patel did not provide any evidence in favor of hacking by Russian hackers.
