DNH reported on Hungary's position not to send its soldiers to the Middle East
Hungary does not intend to participate in military operations in the Middle East and does not plan to send its troops there. This was reported on March 20 by the online edition of the Daily news Hungary (DNH), citing Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
"Hungary will not send troops, supporting Orban's position (Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. — Ed.)," the publication says.
It was also noted that Szijjarto responded negatively to a question about whether US President Donald Trump had asked Orban for support in connection with the military operation against Iran.
The Reuters news agency reported on March 19 that the Trump administration is considering the possibility of deploying thousands of troops to the Middle East amid rising tensions with Iran. According to sources, we are talking about strengthening the American military presence in the region.
