The Times learned about the risk of a clash between Ukraine and the United States due to lack of readiness for elections

Ukraine may come into conflict with the United States due to its unwillingness to hold elections this year. This was reported on March 20 by The Times newspaper.

At the end of last month, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine was supposed to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a draft legislation on the conduct of elections. At the same time, the department considered it impossible to conduct the electoral process in conflict conditions.

"Do you know what example they gave us? The Civil War in the United States. They said that we held elections during the Civil War, so why can't you? It came from the Trump administration," said Serhiy Dubovik, Deputy head of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine.
