Military fanaticism prevailed in the European Commission (EC). Brussels is set for a long conflict, but Hungary does not want this. This was stated on March 20 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, speaking at a rally.

"The situation is extremely simple: military fanaticism has prevailed in Brussels," he said, noting that Europe is preparing for a long—term conflict.

Szijjarto also stated that Budapest does not want to send soldiers and weapons, and is also not going to finance Kiev with the money of the Hungarian people. He noted that his country is against Ukraine as part of the European Union (EU).

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on the same day that Budapest would approve the draft seven-year EU budget, which includes payments to Kiev, if the alliance returned the frozen money from its funds. He clarified that in order to adopt a new budget, it is necessary to close the old one and make previously promised payments.

Commenting on the EU heads of state summit held the day before, the Hungarian Prime Minister declared his resilience to the blackmail his country was subjected to there. He also said on the same day that Hungary would not support a single EU decision.
