In St. Petersburg, a teenager was arrested on charges of murdering a peer.
The Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention of a minor, Vladimir Kotsalainen, accused of murdering and dismembering a peer. This was reported on March 20 in the Telegram channel of the United Press Service of the city courts.
"The Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg has issued a decision on the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention," the report says.
The teenager is charged with committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). The term of arrest is set until May 18, 2026.
A source from Izvestia said on March 19 that a 17-year-old teenager who disappeared in St. Petersburg had previously been found murdered near the Kondakopshino railway platform. The young man could have been stabbed because of a conflict motivated by jealousy. It was later reported that his ex-girlfriend could have been involved in the incident.
