A military court has found Major General Konstantin Ryabykh, the former head of the Russian Guard's Department of Equipment and Weapons, guilty of accepting a particularly large bribe, and he has been sentenced to 12 years in a high-security penal colony. This was announced on March 20 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

In addition, Ryabykh will have to pay a fine of 34 million rubles. He was stripped of the rank of Major General and banned from holding positions in the civil service for five years. The court also ordered the confiscation of 17 million rubles from the defendant, and property estimated at 40 million rubles.
