Sergunina summed up the results of the first round of the Moscow Mayor's Cultural Award competition

The second stage of the Moscow Mayor's Award competition in the field of culture and art has begun in the capital. Until April 10, in-person auditions and exhibitions of artistic works of young talents will be held in children's creative schools and colleges of the city, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.

"The competition is held in 34 nominations. According to the results of the first round, almost 600 individual participants and groups passed the selection process, including 92 ensembles and 30 choirs," Sergunina said.

This year, the number of collective nominations has increased, for example, for vocal, instrumental and dance ensembles. In addition, about 60 pianists and more than 260 individual performers on percussion, orchestral strings, woodwind and brass instruments will demonstrate their skills in the second round. About 70 more people qualified for the second round of the competition in the Design and Decorative and Applied Arts categories.

A total of 103 prizes will be awarded: from 70 to 150 thousand rubles in individual nominations, up to 300 in collective nominations, as well as the grand prix in the amount of 150 thousand rubles. The winners will be determined by an expert jury, which will include cultural and artistic figures, professors of higher educational institutions and world-class stars. The award ceremony will take place in June.

The Award for Outstanding Achievements in Music, Visual Arts, Theater and Choreography was created in 2015. Pupils of children's creative educational institutions and specialized colleges aged from seven to 20 years old can apply for it.
