Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Russian Armed Forces (AF), in response to Kiev's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in the territory of the Russian Federation, carried out massive and six group strikes and hit enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel and energy, transport and airfield infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The sites of production, storage and preparation for the launch of long-range attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries were also affected.

Within a week, the Russian Army liberated the village of Sopych in the Sumy region. As a result of the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1,655 militants, eight armored combat vehicles, 76 vehicles, 10 field artillery guns, eight electronic and counter-battery warfare stations, 47 ammunition depots and materiel. In addition, Russian troops have established control over the settlements of Alexandrovka, Kaleniki and Fedorovka II in the DPR.

"Units of the Center group of forces have liberated the village of Pavlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. They defeated the manpower and equipment of four mechanized, infantry, airmobile, amphibious assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a defense brigade and three National Guard brigades. In total, the enemy lost over 2,125 soldiers in this area," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack drones, missiles and artillery, destroyed the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, the MLRS multiple rocket launcher and the Grad multiple rocket launcher combat vehicle.

In turn, air defense systems shot down 40 guided aerial bombs, 12 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, two guided long-range Neptune missiles and 2,615 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 125,225 UAVs, 652 anti-aircraft missile systems, 28,366 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,690 multiple rocket launchers, 33,961 field artillery and mortars, 57,328 pieces of special vehicles.
