A wolf scared villagers in the Kurgan region

In the Kurgan region, a wolf twice entered the village of Koryukin in the Belozersky district. The predator was seen by local residents and traffic police officers.

A hunting specialist went to the village. He shot the animal outside the village.

According to hunting expert Andrey Maslakov, quoted by <url> news agency, a villager went to work in the morning and noticed a wolf on one of the streets. He warned his fellow villagers about this. Later, the predator was noticed by traffic police officers. They claimed that the wolf had run back to the village from the highway.

Experts carefully drove the wolf out of the village and eliminated it. They had a license to shoot wolves.

It turned out to be a she-wolf, with no outward signs of illness. Maslakov did not rule out that during the rutting season she could enter the village in search of a dog. Wolves are in their mating season. The hunter noted that wolves usually do not enter populated areas. According to him, there has been an increase in the wolf population in the Kurgan region in recent years. They are shot to regulate their numbers.

The agency notes that in the Kurgan region in January 2024, a wolf entered the resort village of Lake Medvezhye and bit four people. One of the victims died from her wounds. A local hunter shot a wolf near his house.

Earlier it was reported that in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a wolf stole a four-month-old baby from a sleeping woman. The animal entered the house, grabbed the baby and ran away. The mother felt the movement and woke up, but she only saw the wolf hiding. Later, the child's clothes and traces of blood were found about a kilometer from the house.
